The state of Qatar continues its rapid development into a premium destination for business and tourism. This growth will be significantly enhanced through the new undertaking currently under development by Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani in addition to the existing City Centre complex.
The existing City Centre development includes approximately 300,000 m2 of gross floor area, making it the largest shopping mall in the Middle East and the premier shopping destination in Qatar.
Cansult Maunsell has been retained as project managers on the 30-month fast track project, which includes five 45-storey towers atop a podium complex. The facility will include three four-star hotels, two five-star hotels, furnished apartments, and commercial space. The integrated development of the City Centre has attracted four global operators including Marriott, Shangri La, Rotana, and Merwab.
Cansult Maunsell’s team is responsible for the overall project management, cost/budget control, scheduling, and project coordination.
The total limit area of the expansion includes 400,000 m² of space.
